Clare Fallon Biography

Clare Fallon

Artist's Statement

The importance of art varies among people. I see art as a record of time and culture. Therefor, I focus my current work on the people that surround me. I often take pictures while I go through my everyday life. If a scene interests me I capture it to hopefully make a gripping painting out of it. If I later pull a picture or two from the many I take, I then draw a rough outline on panel and start laying in the shapes in paint to finish from there. I mainly use oil on panel in my work. I render realistically without making the whole image too tight. My goal for the final product is to have the viewer see a narrative and feel the emotions involved.
